The shortlist for the 2014 Mercury Prize has just been announced, with (as always) a few surprise inclusions and omissions. So, what do you think of the list? We were a bit surprised to see Wild Beasts' Present Tense, CHVRCHES' The Bones Of What You Believe & Gruff Rhys' American Interior (to name but a few) left off the list, but all in all it’s a great group of albums.

Earlier this week BBC Radio 2 revealed their list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Riffs Of All Time, and they nailed it!! The list is so good in fact that we couldn’t resist pulling all 100 into one riff-tastic playlist for you all to enjoy.
